چکیده
Methods We investigated 3 groups of patients for identifying the food hypersensitivity. 1. Group 60 patients with symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) without a diagnosis of organic gastrointestinal disease. 2. Group 19 patients with atopic dermatitis, polysenzitization to inhalant, not to food allergens. 3. Group 6 infants (3-12 months old) with intestinal symptoms (bloody stool and abdominal distention) and positive elimination diet with cow’s milk. Control group -10 healthy non-atopic patients. We performed skin prick test (SPT) and the flowcytometric basophil activation test(BAT) with commercial extracts of wheat, rye flour, egg, milk and soy allergens Alyostal (Stallergenes) in all patients. Serum levels of milk, casein, wheat, rye flour, egg and soy specific IgE were measured by Immulite. The lymphocyte transformation test was performed with the same food allergens. Open food challenge test (OFC) was completed after 14 days of elimination diet.

Background: Plant-origin foods are among the most important sources of food allergic reactions. An increase in the incidence of sesame seed allergy among children and adults has been reported in recent years. The aim of this preliminary study was to investigate the prevalence, importance and clinical manifestations of sesame allergy among Iranian patients. Methods: In a cross-sectional survey, 2...
متن کاملGastrointestinal food allergy in infants.
Food allergies are classified into three types, "IgE-mediated," "combined IgE- and cell-mediated" and "cell-mediated/non-IgE-mediated," depending on the involvement of IgE in their pathogenesis. Patients who develop predominantly cutaneous and/or respiratory symptoms belong to the IgE-mediated food allergy type. On the other hand, patients with gastrointestinal food allergy (GI allergy) usually...
متن کاملFood Allergy in Atopic Dermatitis
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a form of allergic skin inflammation characterized by late eczematous skin lesions [1]. These skin lesions occur through non-Immunoglobulin E (nonIgE)-mediated immune responses, and therefore, AD can be regarded as a non-IgE-mediated allergic inflammatory skin disease [2]. Many causes, including inhalant allergens, food allergens, and other factors, have been implicate...
متن کاملManagement of cow's milk protein allergy in infants and young children: an expert panel perspective.
Cow's milk protein allergy is a condition commonly managed by general practitioners and paediatricians. The diagnosis is usually made in the first 12 months of life. Management of immediate allergic reactions and anaphylaxis includes the prevention of accidental food ingestion and provision of an adrenaline autoinjector, if appropriate. By contrast, the clinical course of delayed food-allergic ...
متن کاملNonimmunoglobulin E-Mediated Immune Reactions to Foods
: Adverse food reactions are abnormal responses to ingested foods. Reactions vary from immunologic to nonimmunologic immune reactions and can be either immunoglobulin E (IgE) mediated or non-IgE mediated. Food-induced IgE-mediated reactions range from localized urticaria to anaphylaxis and have been well studied. However, in comparison, there has been significantly less research into non-IgE-me...
